Service Description
Eco-Explorers: Stewardship Leaders is an advanced, hands-on, ecology-based program for young people, ages 10-14, designed to build upon the curiosity, knowledge, and confidence developed through Eco-Explorers. In a collaborative and supportive learning environment, participants will deepen their understanding of local ecosystems while developing the skills to become thoughtful environmental and community leaders. Working alongside Abbey Gardens' staff, participants will explore ecological concepts related to reclamation design, implementation, and monitoring for “real-life” stewardship projects on the property. Through guided discussions, facilitated brainstorming, field investigations, and hands-on experiences, youth will strengthen their critical thinking, communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills. Participants will also have opportunities to mentor younger Eco-Explorers through hands-on experiences, building confidence and leadership through shared learning. Rooted in stewardship and project-based learning, Eco-Explorers: Stewardship Leaders empowers youth to transform their knowledge into meaningful action. Participants leave with a deeper connection to the natural world and the skills, confidence, and experience to make a positive difference in their communities. The Fall Eco-Explorers: Stewardship Leaders Session includes 7, 5-hour programs, meeting every Wednesday from September 23 to November 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Cancellation Policy
If any program days are canceled by staff due to inclement weather, you will be refunded for time missed less administration costs. If you choose to cancel your child’s camp registration prior to the start of camp our cancellation policy is as follows: · 30+ days’ notice: 90% refund · 15 - 29 days’ notice: If we can successfully fill camp spot = 90% refund; If we’re unable to fill camp spot = 50% refund · 7 – 14 days’ notice: If we can successfully fill camp spot = 80% refund; If we’re unable to fill camp spot = 25% refund Please note: Refunds are not granted if a parent/grandparent/guardian withdraws their child(ren) from the program early, or if a participant is dismissed or disinvited from the program due to misconduct and inappropriate behaviour, deemed as such at the discretion of the Abbey Gardens’ staff.
