About the event

A taste of Italy in the Haliburton Highlands!
Busiate alla Trapanese
Learn how to make Sicily’s ancient spirals & the pesto created to go with them!
Step back in time to Sicily over 1,000 years ago in the Trapani region, where Busiate pasta was first crafted. Like all traditional southern Italian shapes, Busiate is made with just three simple ingredients: hard wheat flour, water, and a little love of course!
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to create this iconic spiral pasta and pair it with Pesto alla Trapanese - a fresh, tomato-based pesto developed specifically to be paired with this shape. As you work, we’ll explore the rich history of the region and the diversity of Italian food traditions as Daniela shares her intimate knowledge of the regions of Italy.
