Tea, derived from the Camellia Sinensis plant, is the original plant-based beverage and the second most widely consumed drink around the world. One standout company in the tea industry is Pluck Tea, established in 2012 by Jennifer Commons. With a mission to transform restaurant tea, Pluck Tea crafts small-batch blends in midtown Toronto, ensuring excellent quality and freshness.

Their commitment to sustainability is evident, as they’ve achieved
GFSI/SQF certification, internationally recognized food safety standard.
Pluck sources as many local ingredients as they can sustainably from Ontario, including
cranberries, lavender, lemon verbena, mint, and apples. They also incorporate upcycled
elements such as lemon peels and orange peels effectively reducing food waste. Their
commitment to local sourcing from around Canada has earned them the distinction of being a ‘Preferred Purveyor’ within the Feast ON program.

Pluck Tea hand blends and packs their teas daily at their Toronto facility, using premium ingredients like organic sustainable farms that are part of the Rainforest Alliance, Fair trade, and Organic certifications. Their premium ceremonial matcha, sourced from Kagoshima, Japan, stands out for its freshness and health benefits. Additionally, their tea bags are 100% compostable, made from corn based material and are sealed ultrasonically.

At Abbey Gardens, we proudly serve Pluck Tea in our FoodHub, where it has been a staple for around five years, with a selection also available for purchase. By choosing Pluck Tea, we support a brand that prioritizes quality and sustainability, enriching our offerings for the community.
